I've started planning something I've been wanting to do for awhile now, and I'm finally going to create it this season: a Spring/Summer collection. Inspired by seeing Jessica's every season, I've decided I'm going to go for it. It's been so fun to choose my coordinating fabrics and draw up sketches...way too fun! And I've decided to be sure to create as many looks for Tobias as I do for Anja. Tough, since it's so easy to make little dresses for Spring/Summer, but I just can't leave out my boy!
In the meantime, I came up with a little hoodie design this week...nothing fancy, but I added a few details to make it original. Here's an inside out shot:
And some close-ups...
Next up...I can hardly believe it, but I'm making my first real quilt!! Thanks to Shannon's awesome tutorial, Tobias is getting an Out to Sea quilt. If all goes well, Anja's going to get one, too. He was so excited to help 'design' it, and was very adamant about where certain pieces were placed. I got all my supplies today, so I have no excuses left for not starting it. I'll keep you posted on how it turns out!
Have a great weekend!!
I adore this little hoodie! Looks so expensive. Great job.
ReplyDeletewhat pattern did you use to make the hoodie?
DeleteReally love that hoodie! Amazing details!
ReplyDeleteThat hoodie will be the perfect piece for spring's cool mornings and evenings. It's great!
ReplyDeleteLove it!!!
ReplyDeletethe hoodie is awesome - I have some hoodies in mind for the kiddos. I want to do a Spring/Summer collection too!!!! You are awesome ;o)
ReplyDeleteExcited to see your Spring/Summer collection{s}, Heidi!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! I am planning one for myself! We'll see how it goes! I know you will inspire me! :)
ReplyDeleteimpeccable as always Heidi, you always add just enough without going over the top :) And I can't wait to see the collection!
ReplyDeleteVery cute hoodie! Can I get one in my size? Can't wait to see the entire look all together. Is it a different color scheme for each child or the same so you can use some of the same fabrics?
ReplyDeleteIn your size, Sally, of course! ;) Good question...so far the colour schemes are mostly different for each child, but I'll probably be able to use some of the solids for both. I'm just having so much fun picking fabrics, but am hesitant to commit since it's so expensive to ship here!!!
DeleteThanks so much, everyone!! You make my day...and make me want to sew more! :)
ReplyDeletelove that color! what a lovely hoodie - the little design details (bias binding esp) really make it special!
ReplyDeleteJust about the cutest thing ever! Can't wait to see your spring collection! I wish I could be organized enough to pull together a collection :)
ReplyDeleteI love it! And I can't wait to see the quilt! I have about 6-7 yards of Out to Sea that I'm tossing around design ideas of what to make! :)
ReplyDeletesuper cute hoodie! I want one!
ReplyDeleteLovely as always, Heidi! I love Shannon's tutorial. She makes the quilting process look so accessible for us non-quilters. Maybe this year sometime. We'll see!
ReplyDeleteCute hoodie... and that quilt is going to be beautiful! =)
ReplyDeleteIt's all so lovely. And the quilt will match the hoodie!
ReplyDeleteVery cool Heidi! Impeccably made as well...of course! :)
ReplyDeleteI REALLY love that hoodie!
ReplyDeleteI think heaps of us are starting to think about collections! Jess is so inspiring! I did a mini collection last year when I was waiting for Eddie to be born, but after PR&P I'm thinking of doing a little Autumn collection for the kiddies :) We should have a big collection roundup!
