Here's a tutorial for a cute little top to wear as the weather heats up this summer.
I've already made two for Anja, and I'm pretty sure I'll make a few more variations.
*I used a store bought t-shirt as my fabric.
It's great to be able to use the existing hemline for a professional looking finish.*
*I didn't include my sizes, since it's based on the tank top I used as a guide
and measuring my daughter,
but leave a comment, and ask...I'd be happy to let you know my measurements.*
All done!
Great quick and easy tutorial!

I'm impressed! Looks so cute.:) I love upcycling t-shirts!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet! I think I might have to make myself one, perhaps with ruffles/ruched fabric down the sides of the white panel. I am very excited to get sewing!

Very cute, thanks! How did you finish the side seams? I'm new to sewing clothes, and I would like to try this out. Did you trim and serge/zigzag?
ReplyDeleteRachael :)
I just ran the side seams through my serger (3/8 seam allowance). If you don't have one, a regular machine would work fine, but I'd recommend using a ball point needle and don't stretch the fabric as you sew (to avoid waviness).
